What is safeguarding?
Safeguarding legislation and government guidance says that safeguarding means:
Protecting children from maltreatment
Preventing impairment of children’s health or development
Ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
Taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcome
The following are the 4 main categories of abuse:
Physical, Emotional, Neglect and Sexual
E-safety
Online technology can be a very positive tool when used appropriately. However, it is also becoming an increasingly concerning safeguarding risk, that is becoming more difficult to safeguard against.

Operation Encompass
On 6th November 2017 the school implemented a project that runs jointly between schools and Greater Manchester Police. This project is called Operation Encompass. It aims to support children who are affected by domestic violence by ensuring that their school is informed. This allows the school to support the children. If you have any other questions about this project, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
